In a world that is rapidly evolving, people are the real agents of change and innovation. Therefore, ORMIT and BNP Paribas Fortis have joined forces to find people managers who can guide a team of people into the future of the bank. “The challenge of becoming an agent of change at one of the largest banks of Belgium, combined with ORMIT’s experience in personal development, made me take the plunge!” tells Chapter Lead trainee Giel.
Although I don’t really have an IT background, I am fascinated by the fast moving and always global world of IT. A curiosity I picked up in my previous job as an IT project manager where I helped companies to digitalize their services. Since I am always looking for new challenges, I decided to accept a new one with ORMIT & BNP Paribas Fortis!
During my selection process I noticed that ORMIT handles things differently. After a few months I am glad to say it’s not only their selection process, but their entire way of working! Focus on employees, good communication and a detailed training program (oh yeah, these are definitely not the usual classroom ones). ORMIT helps me to further develop myself so I can become the best Chapter Lead possible. A very welcoming guidance during this challenging talent program!
The Chapter Lead role is very diverse and new, so it leaves a lot of room for your own interests and growth. Every Chapter Lead is different, since it depends on how you fill in the role. While some take up a more content-based role in their team, others like to focus on the development part by stepping up as a people manager of the Tribe. Furthermore, every Chapter Lead needs to operate on a strategic level by helping the Tribe leader make decisions about the Tribe’s future.
What I like most about my role as Chapter Lead is having a good balance between people and strategy. It’s the best of both worlds. I get the chance to grow as a people manager by leading a team whilst learning about the content as well as operating on a strategic level within the tribe. Everything is possible, so don’t hold back, enjoy and go for your goals the full 100%!
